A few weeks back, after an epic morning at Bicester Village ( if you haven’t been you must go!) we took the country route home via a beautiful country pub with rooms called the Wild Rabbit, in Oxfordshire. Having previouIsly read about this gem on both South Molton Street Style and The Luxe Life I was super keen to pay it a visit ( I also have a weak spot for roast dinners).
We rocked up early for our table and chilled by the roaring fire with one of their signature cocktails on the go.
We then sat down for the main event in their beautiful and light dining room. Neither of us were in any doubt about what to order, so two roasts and all the trimmings arrived, complete with homebaked bread (of course), and our dinner in the shape of a rabbit.
I’ve been disappointed by the food at a few of these trendy country pubs recently ( no names mentioned) but The Wild Rabbit did not disappoint. Meat cooked to perfection, crispy roast potatoes, honey glazed carrots and fresh cabbage. Delicious.
Despite being thoroughly full, we had a brief pause before embarking on the best desert I’ve had in months. Homemade mille feuille, praline mousse and homemade donuts.
We soon returned to our seats by the fire to read the paper under the watchful eye of Peter Rabbit.
If your in the area, or fancy a weekend away, I cannot recommend the Wild Rabbit highly enough, you can find the website here, complete with how to book one of their glorious rooms if you fancy a weekend in the Cotswolds.
