Welcome to my new weekly feature, this week with Spitalfields Style Girl. I thought I’d do a quick round up for what I’ve been up to this week covering the most important areas of my life; eats, about town, running and purchases. If you didn’t know I started blogging as a running blogger a few years ago, so will include a bit of running in this weekly post. Here goes!
As a birthday treat this week, a dear friend and I visited Nopi in Soho, Ottolenghi’s signature restaurant. As you can imagine the food was divine (despite the last minute 9:45pm reservation). We ended up just ordering all vegetarian food because it all sounded so good. I would thoroughly recommended Nopi for a special occasion. Ottolenghi has several other more affordable options around town if your interested.
I spend the perfect Sunday afternoon in two of my favourite places, just a stones thrown from Spitalfields, Columbia Road Flower Market and Victoria Park. Columbia Road Flower Market is a weekly market on Sunday mornings in Bethnal Green. Its something you have to experience. The street is packed with flowers, plants and charming eastend stall holders, some of which are 3 or 4th generation working at this market. The flowers are super reasonable (aka cheap as chips) and the atmosphere is great. In December they’re also open Wednesday evenings for Christmas late night shopping, find out more here.
We then spend a few lazy hours wandering round Victoria Park, drinking coffee and eating cake from Pavilion Cafe.
I’m in the process of trying to complete 12 running events in 12 months. Things have been a bit slow (pun intended) the last few weeks with twingy knees and a dip in motivation. This week I did two 4 milers with a great new playlist featuring Taylor Swift and One D. I also signed up for an event called The Beast in Melton Mobray in November as I really wanted to try a trail run this year.
Purchase of the week
Currently I have a severe addiction to beauty blogs. The likes of Vivianne Does Make up, Lily Pebbles and A Model Recommends are currently leaving me bankrupt with a mountain of products. This week I made a investment in a highly recommended serum by Chanel called Hydra Beauty Serum. It feels like silk on the skin and I am loving using it so far. Will keep you posted on results.
